Children, adults and dreams

As children, we all have an infinite capacity to dream. We're unaffected by the WORLD as such - all we notice is the wonders of nature and fairy tales and dreams. We dream each night about so many beautiful things. Unknowingly - till a certain age, we do end up realizing our dreams.
It's only when we grow up as adults that the world and its injustive and unfairness grows on us and makes us so called rational, mature, too protective and cynical.
These characters don't let us dream big things or the so called rational mind keeps interrupting your dreams saying "This cannot come true". So, we end up not achieving our true potential - losing our ability to have been something great.

So, let's not cultivate too much rationalism. Let's dream big.. and have faith and hope in our dreams - no matter how silly or far fetched they appear. Who knows.. a powerful dream.. with a deep desire to accomplish it, will draw upon all the infinite forces of the universe to see itself come true. Don't let the darkness of the world destroy your precious dream. All you have to worry is, once your dream comes true, what will you do?

Henry David Thoreau on Defining Your Own Success

http://www.brainpickings.org/index.php/2012/07/12/thoreau-on-success/

Perhaps the facts most astounding and most real are never communicated by man to man. The true harvest of my daily life is somewhat as intangible and indescribable as the tints of morning or evening. It is a little star-dust caught, a segment of the rainbow which I have clutched.

I learned this, at least, by my experiment: that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours. He will put some things behind, will pass an invisible boundary; new, universal, and more liberal laws will begin to establish themselves around and within him; or the old laws be expanded, and interpreted in his favor in a more liberal sense, and he will live with the license of a higher order of beings. In proportion as he simplifies his life, the laws of the universe will appear less complex, and solitude will not be solitude, nor poverty poverty, nor weakness weakness. If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.
